On Fran (Director):
Fran Zayas is a Puerto Rican independent filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. Zayas is a recent graduate of the MFA Film program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a focus in Directing and Writing. He’s been awarded the BAFTA BBC Diversity Scholar, and is a recipient of the Spike Lee Production Film Fund and Cary Fukunaga Production Fund for his thesis film, Entre Tormentas, which is set to premiere in SXSW 2025. Zayas is currently in the development of two feature films based in Puerto Rico. Zayas’ goal is to encourage a young generation of filmmakers, especially in Latino communities, to embrace their culture through filmmaking. |

On Irene (Director of Photography):
Irene is a cinematographer from Talca, Chile, based in NYC. She has written, directed, and shot over a dozen narrative short films, focusing on gender dynamics, environmentalism, and social justice, through a female lens. Her work spans genres across film, projection design, and video art. As a director, her film Weona Loca was an official selection at Palm Springs and SANFIC. As a cinematographer, one of her latest projects, Entre tormentas, is an official selection at SXSW 2025, and she currently has three other narrative films in post-production. Irene holds an MFA in Film from NYU Tisch. |
